Meet Matt Jezorek: One of Panther’s Earliest Champions

When Dropbox first adopted Panther, one of the strongest voices behind that decision was Matt Jezorek. With a decade of experience leading security and technology teams at Amazon and Dropbox, Matt knew the limitations of legacy SIEMs and the opportunity for a new, cloud-native approach.

At Dropbox, Matt had already earned a reputation as a pragmatic, people-first security leader. He believed the most valuable asset a security team has is its people—not just its tools. For him, success was never about vanity metrics or flashy dashboards. It was about enabling his team to reduce risk, respond quickly, and deliver outcomes that mattered to the business.

That philosophy made Panther an obvious fit.

Why Matt Chose Panther

Matt’s goal for detection and response was simple but ambitious:

  • Detect within a minute

  • Contextualize within 10

  • Contain within 60

He knew these timelines were tough—and still not fast enough. But Panther’s streaming detections, automation, and focus on agility aligned with his belief that momentum and rapid response are essential for security at scale.

At Dropbox, Matt helped drive the company’s transition from qualitative to quantitative risk management, introduced phishing-resistant MFA, and strengthened detection and response capabilities across the board. Panther was a critical part of that evolution, giving his team the speed, flexibility, and scale they needed.

A Practitioner’s Perspective

Matt’s belief in Panther came from deep practitioner experience.

  • At Amazon, he helped build the incident response program from the ground up, formalizing threat hunting, malware analysis, and the feedback loops between intelligence and response.

  • As Senior Manager of Amazon’s elite Blue Team, he developed strategies and metrics that protected one of the world’s largest infrastructures against sophisticated threats.

When it came time to choose a SIEM at Dropbox, Matt recognized that Panther’s approach—cloud-native, cost-efficient, and engineering-driven—solved problems he had wrestled with firsthand.

Why Matt Still Believes

What continues to stand out for Matt is Panther’s balance:

  • Pragmatic design that prioritizes outcomes over noise

  • Agility at scale for teams who don’t get to choose when or where an attack happens

  • A practitioner-first mindset that treats detections and automation as force multipliers for people

Matt once said what drew him to security was the complexity—the “gray areas” where you never have 100% certainty but still need to act decisively. Panther helps teams operate in that gray space with clarity, speed, and confidence.

That’s why Matt has remained one of Panther’s earliest and strongest champions. His belief in Panther isn’t tied to a title—it’s rooted in his practitioner’s eye, his leadership at Dropbox, and his conviction that security teams deserve tools that keep them ahead of attackers.
